Crawford, Professor at South Carolina State College and an officer in the Alumni Association, met with the group of about ten area Alumni about forming a chapter. The Garnet & Blue Extravaganza held Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Orangeburg, South Carolina brought together more than 1,500 attendees for an evening focused on celebrating 130 years of excellence while investing in the next generation of students.
Centered on the theme “Honoring the Past. Investing in the Future,” the event raised over $1.4 million to support scholarships and university priorities tied to academic excellence, innovation and student success. More than 230 students who worked the event will receive $1,300 in scholarships.
