Friends of the Library is a community organization that supports Everett Library at Queens University of Charlotte.
The Friends of the Library at Everett Library is a vibrant organization dedicated to providing social and literary events to the Queens community and the Charlotte community at large through Book Talks and Book and Author Events. Founded in 1971 by a group of interested citizens who pledge to provide support and resources to Everett Library at Queens University of Charlotte, the Friends of the Library organization is an integral part of the life of Everett and the entire Queens campus.

The Friends of the Library welcomes Ariel Lawhon and Stacy Willingham to kick off the Book & Author Events. Tonight at Convetsations with the Authors, Ariel discussed her best selling novel The Frozen River. Stacy Willingham told us about her facination with serial killers and her new novel, Only if You’re Lucky. Can confirm that these books should be on your list.

The Friends of the Library hosted a standing room only crowd last night to hear Wall Street Journal reporter and best selling author Valerie Bauerlein. Valerie wrote The Devil at His Elbow: Alex Murdaugh and the Fall of a Southern Dynasty the definitive book about the double murders of Murdaugh’s wife and son on their South Carolina estate in 2021. Valerie, who spent years researching the family history in the small town and weeks attending the trial, shared details of the circumstances leading up to the murders. The continued interest in this story attracted a crew from CSPAN to record the event to be featured on their website CSPAN BookTV.

Today’s FOL Holiday Books & Coffee was a packed house at Queens University gathered to see bestselling author, Mary Kay Andrews. Mary Kay spoke about her newest Christmas-themed book, Bright Lights Big City as well as her journey to becoming a writer. In addition, our favorite bookseller, Sally Brewster from entertained the crowd with her colorful and insightful book recommendations for this year’s upcoming Winter reading and gift giving season. What a wonderful kick off to the holidays!

Big News! New York Times bestselling author Megan Miranda will be the featured guest at the Friends of the Library's Spring Books & Coffee. Save the date: April 28, 2023, 10am - noon, Queens University. In the meantime, pick up Megan's newest psychological thriller, The Only Survivors, to be released on April 11th.
