Big dreams need big investments! 🫶

Wedmy is a compassionate rising ninth grader who dreams of becoming a doctor and giving back to both her local community and children in her home country, Honduras.

As a Scholarship receipient, she's one step closer to this dream. The Friedland Foundation invests in students across North Carolina through scholarships and mentorship support. Thanks to their generosity and support, Wedmy will receive $25,000 to go toward her undergraduate degree.

We are so grateful for this incredible partnership opportunity! For first-generation students like Wedmy, the anticipated cost of higher education alone is a significant deterrent and barrier. That's why early scholarship awards, like those provided by Circle de Luz and the Friedland Foundation are especially critical.

By becoming a Mija, you're not just donating — you're investing in possibility, potential, and powerful futures 💫

A tremendous thank you to our Social Work Interns, Myranda and Rosie! This month, Myranda and Rosie graduated with their Bachelor of Social Work degrees from 🎓🎉 These incredible young women spent the past year working hard to support our students and families. From facilitating workshops and leading relationship-building activities to conducting home visits and submitting resource referrals (and more!), their work has made a lasting impact on our program members.

While their time with us has come to an end, we are so excited to celebrate their accomplishments and see what the future holds in store for them ☀️
