Today we celebrate the Founders of MALIK Fraternity, Inc. — visionaries who established a brotherhood rooted in African-centered principles, manhood, community empowerment, and collective responsibility.

As we honor this 49th Anniversary, we also celebrate every brother who continues to carry the torch forward through leadership, sacrifice, mentorship, and impact in our communities.

From the foundation that was laid… to the generations that continue to build upon it… the mission lives on.

This weekend, our chapter proudly participated in our 2nd Annual MLK, Jr. Parade, walking with purpose and intention in tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.. Dr. King reminded us that “life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?”

For us, that answer lives in service, unity, and visible commitment to our community. Marching together was more than tradition—it was a reminder that the work continues, the mission endures, and our presence matters.

We don’t just celebrate the dream—we commit to advancing it through action, leadership, and brotherhood.

On this day 10 years ago, December 19, 2015, the Charlotte MALIKs and MALIK South were born at the . Since our inception, our accolades have been many… including several Shabazz (Graduate) Chapter of the Year awards, Sigma Awards for Community Service and Social Justice, a Dave Nelson Award, and hosting an Indaba (National Convention). But what we’re most proud of is that for a decade, we’ve stood on purpose— 1) uplifting our community through free cultural awareness, health awareness, and other educational events centered on the African and Latino diaspora, 2) developing leaders that have gone on to serve our brotherhood at the regional and national levels and in our community in some our most important local and regional nonprofit organizations, and 3) strengthening the bonds that connect us beyond letters. As we go forward in the next year, we’ll be celebrating 10 years of strong brotherhood, leadership, and community impact.

So many MALIKs played an instrumental role in bringing MALIK Fraternity, Inc. , the first fraternity founded on the concept of African Fraternalism, to Charlotte. We honor the brothers that planted the seeds and watered them with great intention.

Additionally, we extend a very special tribute to our firsts, our founding members - , , and for braving the path and laying the foundation, as well as their Jafaru, , Haruni .quire_official, and Personals without whose unwavering dedication and commitment none of this would be possible.

On April 4th, 2025, two Kings rose in the Capitol 🏙️ and made history on the Hill 🐍 — establishing the Kingdom of MALIK at one of the most powerful and respected HBCUs in the nation.
