Join us this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for worship at Pilgrim Lutheran Church.

In this week's Gospel reading (Matthew 10:24–39), Jesus reminds us that not even a sparrow falls to the ground outside of God's care -- and that we are worth far more than many sparrows. In a world that can feel uncertain and overwhelming, these words offer a powerful promise: God sees us, knows us, and holds us close.

Come hear the good news, lift your voice in song, and gather with a community rooted in faith, hope, and grace. All are welcome!

Today, we observe Juneteenth, honoring freedom, resilience, and hope.

As we reflect on this day, we recommit ourselves to working towards equality and equity for all people.

"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed." — Isaiah 1:17

We had a wild first week of Pilgrim Quest & Quest Jr. Summer Camp! 🦁🐍🕷️

From an adventure at the Lincoln Park Zoo to meeting some slithery and eight-legged visitors up close, there was no shortage of excitement, discovery, and fun!

We loved every minute of it, and can’t wait to do it all over again. “Creative Construction” Week starts tomorrow - let the building, creating, and imagining begin! 🚧🔨 ✨

Jesus sees the crowds, and is moved with compassion. Then he sends his followers into the world to share God's love and healing.

Join us this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. as we hear Matthew 9:35–10:8 [9–23] and reflect on Christ's call to serve our neighbors with courage, compassion, and trust in God's provision. Together, we'll be renewed and sent out to participate in God's work in the world.

All are welcome. We look forward to worshiping with you.

🌎💚 The Pilgrim Green Team has been hard at work protecting our planet!

Recently, they joined the community at EcoFest in Welles Park, sharing ideas about sustainability, and helping visitors create fun, eco-friendly projects like braided dog toys made from scrap fabric, DIY bird feeders, and pressed flower bookmarks. 🌸🐦🐶

The team also spent a morning at Montrose Beach helping keep our shoreline beautiful by cleaning up litter. 🏖️

We’re proud of our Green Team students for making a positive impact, and showing that small actions can make a big difference for the Earth! ♻️

At Pilgrim, we celebrate the sacred worth and belovedness of every person. This month and every month, we give thanks for the gifts, faith, leadership, and presence of our LGBTQIA+ parish members and neighbors. May all who pass by know they are welcomed, valued, and loved. 💜

Serving others is an important part of a Pilgrim education. Last week, our 5th–8th grade students had the opportunity to put that lesson into practice at Feed My Starving Children.

Working alongside teachers and parent volunteers, our students packed 95 boxes of food that will be sent to children in Nicaragua. And thanks to the generosity of our parish community, Pilgrim donated enough money to FMSC for 950 children to eat for a day.

We are grateful for these opportunities to teach our students about the importance of serving and reaching out with compassion to help others! ♥️
