You come to Carmel as a Boy. If you care to struggle and work at it, you will leave as a Man.

Mount Carmel High School is Chicago’s premier Catholic college preparatory school for young men. Located just south of the Museum of Science and Industry, the University of Chicago, and future Obama Presidential Center, Mount Carmel attracts students from over 250 grammar schools and 110 zip codes across the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. Over a century after Mount Carmel’s founding in 1900, under the leadership of the Carmelites, the school continues to fulfill its mission.

Omaha looks good on Mount Carmel.

Front row: Tommy Egan '21, whose pitching helped Troy earn its first College World Series victory, and Shane Curtin '22 of Creighton Baseball.

Back row: Coach Paul Nykaza, Head Coach Brian Hurry, and Coach Mark Egan.

Moments like this are a reflection of the culture, brotherhood, and family that define MC Baseball.

Today we are supporting Tommy Egan '21 as he takes the mound with Troy against the University of Mississippi, in an elimination game in the College World Series.

A familiar figure around 64th and Dante, Tommy's dad, Mark, is a long-standing member of the Caravan baseball staff.

Congratulations to Caravan Baseball on their 3rd place finish. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment throughout the season were on full display, and we're proud of the way they represented Mount Carmel at every opportunity.

An impressive achievement and a testament to the hard work put in by our dedicated young men and coaches. Congratulations, Caravan!

At our end-of-the-year faculty party, we honored two women who have cared for, nurtured, and supported countless young men and the Mount Carmel community. Mrs. Norise and Mrs. Luecker have been a steady presence at 64th and Dante, offering kindness, wisdom, and countless acts of care for our students.

As they begin their well-earned retirements, we celebrated them with brownies and cake—fitting for two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet.

Thank you, Mrs. Norise and Mrs. Luecker, for all you have given to Mount Carmel.

Through the generosity of the Classes of 1963, 1965 and 1966, Rogan Graniteindustrie (Jim Rogan '62) and the creativity of Mike Rogan '65, Mount Carmel welcomed a beautiful bronze statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Christ Child to campus. Gracing the main entrance to the campus, the statue proclaims our Catholic identity and Carmelite heritage.

The statue will be formally dedicated and blessed early in the coming school year. Thank you to all the donors who have made this possible!
