"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me." - Matthew 25:35
What came first, the chicken or the egg? James, a residential student at Liberia Mission, tells us the answer with a Liberian story!
One of the beautiful aspects of Liberia Mission is its dedication to preserving Liberian culture for the children. In Liberia, telling jokes and short stories is a common way for people to pass time in family and friendships.

10-year-old Mariah is still in need of sponsors! Before coming to Liberia Mission, Mariah lived with her aunt who cared for her since her mother’s passing. Her father’s whereabouts are unknown. Despite these challenges, Mariah remains cheerful and determined in her studies. She loves school and dreams of a brighter future.
Sponsor Mariah! 💛 https://www.franciscanworks.org/mariah
Liberia Mission was founded in 2003, just as the dust was settling from the Second Civil War. The Mission consists of a secure 10-acre campus and an adjoining 15-acre farm property. The main campus houses St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School for preschool-high school, St. Michael the Archangel Chapel that welcomes and serves the community at large, a student-run piggery, residential homes, and accommodations for program managers and volunteers.

Happy Monday! How can we pray for you this week? 🙏🏽
Flomo was born and raised in a remote Liberian village called Ganglota Town in Lofa County. There were not many opportunities to receive an education. There was no running water, no assurance of good food, and no access to even the most basic medical care. The first ten years of Flomo’s life were marked by the deadly Liberian Civil War.
When Flomo came to Liberia Mission in 2008 and someone chose to sponsor him, his life changed forever. Watch Flomo tell his incredible story of going from a beneficiary of Liberia Mission to Assistant Director, a journey made possible thanks to the generosity and support of his sponsors.
By becoming a sponsor, you can transform the life of a child in poverty, just like Flomo's sponsors. 💛 Learn more about our child sponsorship program: https://www.franciscanworks.org/sponsor

Eight of Liberia Mission’s residential students received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday! Spiritual formation is the most important pillar of Liberia Mission, and this is a joyful testament to God's providence in our community. Please keep them in your prayers! 🙏🏽
