Built for what's next. Apply now to join our PreK-12 community in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. 🩵 We teach kids, not content.
At Bennett Day School, we believe that every child is born wondering, and that fostering this innate curiosity leads to a lifelong love of learning. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our educators are experts in child development and keen observers of students and their interests. Learning is then thoughtfully scaffolded around these interests, which naturally creates a stronger connection

We have an exciting update! ✨ After being recognized as an international Finalist, rising 10th grader Cameron A. has been invited to participate in the Trust for Sustainable Living 2026 International Secondary Students’ Debate on July 2nd!
Cameron is one of just TWO students chosen from the United States to participate in this live debate. On the global stage, he will be asked to think critically about whether governments place enough priority on sustainability culture when trying to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ultimate goal isn't just to win the debate, but to collaborate and explore pathways for genuine sustainability action among young people.
We are so proud! 🩵
International Student Competition - Trust for Sustainable Living Our 2026 competition theme is Sustainability Culture. Due to a surge in last-minute entries, we extended the entry deadline to March 8th.

Senior Spotlight: Eden ✨
Q: What are your plans after you graduate?
A: I plan to go to Northeastern University in Boston and major in criminology and criminal justice. After I graduate from college, I plan to go to law school to become a criminal defense attorney or prosecutor!
Q: Tell us about your internship experience at Bennett.
A: I interned at the Chicago Police Academy, where I attended law classes, gym classes, CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) simulation classes, and much more. Sometimes I was able to spend the entire day there, and during those times, I attended recruits’ graduations, went to court, observed what the recruits do daily, and participated in their scheduled classes. I also attended events after my scheduled internship hours ended. I truly loved my internship and the people there!
Q: How do you feel Bennett has prepared you for what comes next?
A: Bennett has prepared me for college in many ways, and with all the opportunities we’ve had, I feel that I’ve developed certain qualities that I previously lacked. I think that with college life, Bennett has helped boost my confidence and enabled me to come out of my shell!

Senior Spotlight: Efuru ✨
Q: What are your plans after you graduate?
A: I plan to study astronomy and biophysics at The University of Texas at Austin.
Q: Why did you choose/decide to go to Bennett Day School?
A: I chose to attend Bennett because of its unique approach to learning and the environment it cultivates. Bennett’s PBL (Project-Based Learning) classes were a new experience to me, and once I shadowed, I was certain I was meant to be here. It is a genuine environment where students can be themselves in a multitude of ways, and the teachers do everything to support that further.
Q: What’s your favorite project-based learning (PBL) memory?
A: My favorite PBL project is DEFINITELY our Space PBL, which took place in Trimester 2 of my junior year. Our two grades were mixed into two teams for the Regional Space Settlement Design Competition (), and during preparation, we traveled to NASA's Kennedy Space Center! As someone who has always been interested in a career in space science and space travel, this was another incredible experience that further solidified my post-high school plans. Regionals led to me being one of four students selected (Class of ’25 alums Brosnan and Evan, and current senior Anna) to compete in the International Space Settlement Design Competition this past summer!
