Happy Juneteenth! ✨ Today we celebrate freedom, honor Black excellence, and recognize the rich culture, history, and contributions that continue to shape our communities. Whether you're attending a local festival, supporting Black-owned businesses, or gathering with loved ones, take a moment to reflect, celebrate, and honor the journey toward equality.
We're also excited to recognize the opening of the Obama Presidential Center (), a significant new landmark in Chicago's cultural, civic, and educational landscape. A little Auditorium history: during our 125th Anniversary Season in 2014, Michelle Obama served as Honorary Chair, with Rahm Emanuel and Amy Rule as Honorary Co-Chairs, helping commemorate this milestone in our historic venue's story. We wish the new center the very best in this next chapter of our city.
