Promote French Culture and Language

The Alliance Française of Cincinnati is the primary French cultural institution in Cincinnati and the Northern Kentucky region. We are a non-profit cultural institution founded in 1901 by Auguste Fredin, who was the Honorary Consul of France in Cincinnati. We often partner with the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, Northern Kentucky University, the European-American Chamber of Commerce, and other groups to bring the most diverse events to the Greater Cincinnati area.

FRANCE IS HOLDING 18,000 FREE CONCERTS TODAY - IN 104°F HEAT WITH NO ALCOHOL 🎶

The Fête de la Musique is happening right now across every city in France, and this year it landed on the hottest day of 2026.

Paris hit a red heatwave alert today, the highest warning level Météo-France issues, with temperatures expected to reach 40°C (104°F).

The government banned public alcohol consumption across all red-alert zones for the entire festival, a decision made at an emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Lecornu.

Parks and gardens in Paris are staying open through the night specifically to give people a place to cool down between concerts.

The music plays on regardless: 18,000 concerts, all free, all genres, from church courtyards to the Palais-Royal gardens.

Ever been in France for the Fête de la Musique?
