Earlier this spring, a group of aerospace engineering seniors won the Air Force Research Laboratory's engine design competition!
Each year, the AFRL hosts an engineering challenge for college students across the country. This year's objective was to design a heat exchanger for a small gas turbine engine. Out of 21 teams, the Bearcats took home first place.

Arvish Pandey, computer science alumnus, was inspired by current events to develop an AI-powered city response platform to improve community safety through early detection and timely alerts.
The platform, which he named HORIZN, was designed to detect anomalies and analyze hot spots. It could also be helpful in times of natural disaster like severe storms or floods.
