đ´CLOUGH PARENTS đ´
I am begging you to complete your childâs re-registration asap! Today would be great! Our office staff have other things to do rather than to call parents every weekday to remind them. We are trying to close down our offices for July, and this is getting old, to be quite frank. âĽď¸ Iâm sure youâd rather not be bothered by a phone call as well.
đ´The district needs it done whether there are changes to your childâs information or NOT. If there are no changes, itâs super QUICK!
đ´Address changes, phone number changes, custody changes, âŚâŚwe need these to be current to better serve your family.
đ´We need to get every child placed on a class list, but this process is holding us back.
đ´we know some of you have moved to other school districts, but until we get a records request from your childâs new school, we have to keep them on our roster. We would appreciate you still doing the re-registration with a note that youâve moved out of WC.
Thanks to everyone who has done this and much appreciation to those who do this today!! âĽď¸
Enjoy your summer! âĽď¸âď¸

Today we honor Juneteenth, which marks the United States' second independence day.
Even though slavery in the United States ended with the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, many people remained enslaved in places that were still under Confederate control. As a result, in the westernmost Confederate state of Texas, enslaved people would not be free until much later.
Freedom finally came two years later on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth," by the newly freed people in Texas. At last, slavery was truly ended in the United States.
PBS Kids has a suggested reading list for families who who are interested in learning more about the history and celebration of Juneteenth.

Parents - PLEASE do your childâs re-enrollment asap. We need to have every student accounted for as we prepare classrooms and class lists for your children. We cannot add your childâs name to our class lists until this is completed.
