In this episode of Real Unity, Sienna Mae Heath sits down with Jaime Manfra, founder of Service Learning Micro-School, a Bahá’í-inspired learning community in the Tampa Bay area that has been reimagining education for more than 14 years. What began as a small neighborhood children's group has grown into a state-licensed private microschool built on the belief that education should nurture the whole human being—not simply prepare students for tests, careers, or achievement.
Drawing from her experience as an educational pioneer and leader in the microschool movement, Jaime shares why she believes microschools represent the future of learning. Together, Sienna and Jaime explore education through a philosophical lens, examining the purpose of schooling, the cultivation of character, and the role of service in personal and community transformation.
The conversation challenges the assumptions of the industrial education model and revisits older, more organic approaches to learning—from one-room schoolhouses to the wisdom found in natural systems like gardens.

Year after year… we continue celebrating all of our graduates from kindergarten to senior year! Whether it be 1st grade, a university, the military, work force, trade school or training to operate their family’s small business, we treasure every milestone! Today marked a truly special occasion as we celebrated our kindergarten graduation and the elementary award ceremony! 🎓✨ Watching our young learners transition from one milestone to another filled our hearts with joy and pride.
As we wrap up this school year, we want to extend our warmest wishes for a fabulous summer to all our K-3 students. May it be filled with adventure, laughter, and plenty of time to explore and play.

Just experienced an unforgettable adventure at The Book Rescuers in Largo, FL yesterday! This incredible used bookstore performs an extraordinary service by rescuing tons of books from landfills and making them available to the public for the remarkably low price of $1-$5 per book. The built-in bookshelf tunnel adds a delightful touch to the atmosphere, making it a haven for book lovers! Our students are now stocked with plenty of engaging summer reads, and we were able to enrich our school library with new additions for the upcoming fall semester. The vast selection truly catered to all tastes, with a fantastic children's section that left us beaming.
For the teachers, social justice novel for Ms. Jenny, novels and assorted materials for Ms. Megan, Disney princess books for Ms. Ali’s library and a very old medical text book (1890) to wow Ms. Jaime.  There is something for everyone!
