Faith, creativity, and a little bit of paint!

This spring, our 5th grade art students designed and painted their own T-shirts featuring Bible verses, crosses, and faith-inspired artwork.

Students were able to take their shirts home and wear them, a fun way to express creativity while reflecting on God’s Word.

Looking for a summer activity to try with your children?

All you need is:
• A plain T-shirt
• Fabric paint or fabric markers
• A favorite Bible verse or stencil design

Our elementary art students recently created colorful 3D ocean artwork, using layering, texture, and creativity to bring their projects to life.

We love seeing students explore artistic expression while building creativity, problem-solving skills, and confidence through hands-on learning experiences.

Looking for an easy summer learning activity to try at home?

This year, our 5th grade science students created 3D human lung models using plastic bottles to learn about the respiratory system.

Want to make one yourself?

Supplies:
• Clear plastic bottle
• 2 balloons
• 2 straws (or a Y-straw)
• Tape or clay/playdough
• Scissors (adult help recommended)

Directions:

1. Cut off the bottom of the bottle.
2. Attach balloons to the straw(s) and place them inside the bottle.
3. Seal the bottle opening around the straw.
4. Stretch a balloon over the cut bottom of the bottle.
5. Gently pull the bottom balloon downward to see the “lungs” fill with air!

Simple, fun, and a great way to keep curious minds learning this summer.

🚴‍♂️ Happy World Bike Day!

Today we’re celebrating one of our own: Elijah Jenkins, a Lakeside Lion who will be entering high school this fall.

Last summer, Elijah watched the Tour de France and decided to try cycling for himself.

Fast forward one year…

Earlier this year, he competed in the Gran Fondo 60-mile race in Dade City, earning 1st place in his age group and 18th place overall.

We love highlighting the ways our students grow, pursue interests, and challenge themselves both inside and outside the classroom.

Congratulations, Elijah , your Lakeside family is proud of you!

Our annual Grad Venture trip was another great way to celebrate the end of the 2025-2026 school year for our 6th and 8th graders!

In May, students headed to Adventure Island to celebrate finishing an important chapter and preparing for what’s next. From water slides and laughter to making memories with classmates, this tradition is always a fun way to recognize growth, accomplishment, and the transition into new seasons.

Thank you to our teaching staff, chapel crew, and Youth Pastor Spencer King for coming along and helping make the day special.
