What a fin-tastic second week of Summer Enrichment Camp! Our young explorers have been diving into the amazing world of ocean life through hands-on activities, creative projects, games, and plenty of laughter. From learning about fascinating sea creatures to making waves with new friendships, every day has been filled with discovery and fun.

We’re shore having a great time, and it’s been wonderful watching our campers come out of their shells and make a splash all week long!

And just like that, Week 3 started today! We can’t believe how quickly this summer is swimming by. Excited to sea where the tide takes us this week.

There’s always a mix of emotions when a student spreads their wings and flies from the dePaul nest. While we miss seeing them in our hallways, there is no greater reward than watching them grow, succeed, and make a difference on their next adventure. Even more meaningful is hearing from former students and their parents who take the time to reflect on how their experiences at dePaul helped shape who they are today.

"We missed dePaul so much this year but we wanted to let you know how Xavier did in a mainstream middle school.

We so dreaded putting Xavier in public school for the middle school years. The adolescent years seem to be the most tumultuous time in a child’s life, and we were so hesitant to remove Xavier from his safe and supportive little bubble and thrust him into a huge school filled with unknowns. We were certain he would drown and regress.

Do you know what actually happened? He thrived.

In meetings with his teachers and IEP team, we consistently heard how tenacious and confident he is. We also heard about how strong his self-advocacy skills and discipline are.

We KNOW that came from dePaul. The extra emphasis you place on executive function coaching and the supportive environment you foster shows these kids that they are limitless.

Xavier ended up with 4’s on his ELA and Math FAST tests, Principal’s Honor Roll for straight A’s, and 6th grade Student of the Year.

Thank you so much for all you guys do for these kids. You’re doing great work that extends beyond your walls."

It's o-fish-ially summer and our first week of enrichment camp is in the books and from the smiles on these faces it seems to have gone swimmingly. The kids have submerged themselves in reading, octopi-ed their time with a little art and some fin-tastic writing activities. They shore are having some sea-rious fun.

It was a beautiful evening to celebrate some of our incredible students and the art that they pour their hearts into. A big thank you to Ms. Pam and the incredible staff Beach Art Center who rolled out the red carpet (ice cream and cookies too) for these artists. It was great to see some of our newest alumni come and see their art on display. If you missed last night's reception don't worry you still have time. These masterpieces will be on display until July 23rd.
