Our hearts are full as we celebrated the final days of our incredible 8th graders at SCS. ππ
Last week, our 8th graders gathered in front of the chapel one last time with their little buddies to share hugs, smiles, and goodbye wishes before attending a beautiful Mass celebrated in their honor. During the Mass, one of our 8th graders had the special privilege of crowning Mary, while each student offered flowers to Our Blessed Mother in a touching tribute of faith and devotion.
In his inspiring homily, Father Michael reminded our students that, βIt is the purpose of Catholic education to not only fill the mind with knowledge, but also ignite the spirit with fire.β He then presented each 8th grader with an unlit candle, encouraging them to light it whenever they may feel surrounded by darkness, remembering that Christβs light is always with them.
Following Mass, our entire school lined the outside hallways to clap out and celebrate our 8th graders as they walked campus together one final time. It was a beautiful and emotional sendoff for a class that has left a lasting mark on our school community.
