๐ During National Cancer Survivors Month, CDIQ Consulting is proud to recognize our COO, Anna Rusinowski โ metastatic breast cancer survivor, patient advocate, wellness coach, daughter, sister, friend, and proud cat mom.
๐ธ These photos were taken in 2015 at a cancer run in Detroit, Michigan, where showed up strong.
Newly diagnosed, Anna walked side by side with her mom, dad, brother, best friend, and the community that rallied around her.
Anna was diagnosed with breast cancer at 31 while living in Germany and serving as a Contracting Officer supporting the U.S. Air Force in large-scale procurements.
That experience shaped her survivorship, advocacy, and leadership.
For more than a decade, Anna has seriously shown up for women facing metastatic breast cancer โ through diagnosis, treatment decisions, scan anxiety, family responsibilities, fear, grief, faith, and hope. It's her default setting.
She has sent hundreds of care packages, prayed with families as a devoted Catholic in healing masses around the country, led healing circles that bonded women for life and stood beside cancer friends through their final days with dignity and love.
๐ฉโ๐ณ Anna has also poured thousands of hours into her own healing journey, including HBOT and ozone sauna treatments, while becoming certified as a plant-based chef and wellness coach who understands the power of food, healing, and community.

A 68-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes is admitted with hypotension, tachypnea, fluctuating altered mental status, and a lactate level of 3.2 mmol/L. She meets three SIRS criteria within the first 24 hours. Urinalysis supports infection, and blood cultures grow E. coli.
The attending consistently documents "sepsis due to an E. coli urinary source", with the tachypnea and hypotension attributed to sepsis. The patient receives IV fluids, antibiotics, and close monitoring.
The case groups to a sepsis MS-DRG. The CDI program is accustomed to commercial-payer clinical-validation denials, which attempt to reframe presentations like this as a localized urinary infection with associated inflammatory findings and seek removal of sepsis as the principal diagnosis.

๐ These opportunities are ideal for qualified CDI professionals with recent production experience, strong remote workflow readiness, and the ability to contribute in a high-performance inpatient environment.
๐ Candidates with experience in risk adjustment, coding reconciliation, Patient Safety Indicator (PSI) and Hospital-Acquired Condition (HAC) review, Epic, 3M 360, or Optum are strongly encouraged to be considered.
โญ Required qualifications include a Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credential, along with an eligible professional background such as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P), Medical Doctor (MD), or Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG).
๐ CDIQ Consulting will carefully review each candidateโs submitted details. Qualified candidates may be invited to complete our proprietary CDI Diagnostic Assessment. Based on assessment results, selected candidates may then be invited to a recorded screening interview.
