My favorite Sourdough Baking Partner turned 7 today! Love this kid.

Just a reminder that now that summer is here both your starter and dough may double super fast, like 4 hours. We don't have air conditioning so I put both the starter and dough in our basement where it's cooler. The good news is you get a baked loaf or whatever you are making super fast.

I had a lovely time on Fox21 SoCo Loving Living Local this morning. I had the pleasure of sharing my Haphazard Sourdough Business on the show. Both Justin and Krista were very kind and great interviewers.

I have been baking Sourdough for 10 years and have taught over 800 people but I love it when my students get so excited about Sourdough that they teach me something.
Ex. I thought silicone baking sheets left an odor on baked goods. Not so. No more parchment for me. And how much more sustainable! Thanks Tanner!

The adults started getting jealous of me teaching my Sourdough Kids how to make P*P T@rts. So here are some samples of adult P*P T@rts. My choice of fillings are: Nutella, Guava, or Strawberry Jam. You can choose whatever fillings or icing you want. It's your class!

People ask how to tell when the starter is bad. This is a great example. It can also be pink, look moldy or smell like a Middle Schooler's locker room. What to do?
First old school thought, when in doubt throw it out. If you've taken one of my classes, I'll always give you a new starter as a gift.
