I was at a meeting at School District 11 today and had quite a surprise. A gentleman asked me about the origins of โKilroyโ in our name, so I briefly told him about Kilroy Was Here from WWII.
Then came the surprise. His name is Chris Kilroy, grandson of THE Kilroy! I had to get a couple pictures with him.. ๐

I stopped by to see my friend, James Proby, at and picked up a suit and a sport coat. I needed some alterations, and James and his staff handled all of it. They also did something I didnโt expect: they taught me how a suit is actually supposed to fit, so I understood why each change mattered. They have the heart of a teacher.
Hereโs the best part. James and The Menโs Exchange give back. For every nine customers they serve, they dress someone in the community for free. One night a month at Kilroy's Workshop in Colorado Springs. Only the first session is posted in July. First-come, first-served basis on registration.

This is a gathering for fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and men who want to be better at it (we're all in the same boat..). We meet around the forge, make something with our hands, and talk honestly about raising families and building a life worth passing on.
This isn't a forging or fatherhood class. It's informal. No experience required, no sermon, no lecture. Just men, a fire, and good conversation.

๐ฑ:๐ฏ๐ฌ we start with coffee and introductions, then a quick demo. We split into small groups of five so nobody gets lost in the crowd.
๐ฒ:๐ฌ๐ฌ we get to work. Ninety minutes at the forge making something you'll take home. Hooks, bottle openers, simple projects built for beginners.
๐ณ:๐ฏ๐ฌ we set the tools down and talk. Being present instead of just providing. Building trust with your kids. Raising sons, raising daughters, leading by example, leaving a legacy. Less lecture, more "here's something I've learned about being a dad."
๐ด:๐ฌ๐ฌ we head home better than we showed up.

Great reminder from Blair Repairs, LLC!
If you have small engine repairs, farm machinery, or other similar jobs to do -- check these guys out!
80% of my work comes from using ethanol fuel in small engine equipment. If left to sit, ethanol will break down and gum up, preventing your equipment from running.
Even though I enjoy working on your equipment, do yourself a favor and pay $1 more per gallon for ethanol free fuel in your small engine equipment, quads, mowers, blowers, etc!

Noah received his welding certificate today, his bag of gear for passing on his first attempt in class, ANDโa new job! :) You'll be seeing him around Kilroy's a bit more now. ;)
