☀️🌴Summer time is Splash Day time at Little Sprouts! 😎

Did you know water play has a variety of benefits in early childhood?

💧They gain physics and math knowledge as they observe the way toys sink and float or pour water into different containers.
💧Their motor skills get practice as they pour, squeeze, and splash.
💧Vocabulary gets a huge boost as children use words like wet, cold, or warm.
💧The open-ended nature of water play helps children soothe their nervous systems and release tension!

🪟 Remember fogging up a window and drawing on it with your finger?

Our preschoolers learned all about condensation this week as they continued exploring their water unit! 💧

🌈 🌱Our annual Gardening Day went wonderfully yesterday! 💚

The children loved learning all about how to make a garden, took a look at the roots and other parts of the plant, and got to help with the first watering.

We can't wait to see how the garden will grow as the kiddos help take care of it throughout the next couple of months! 🥰

☀️ Our toddler and preschool classrooms had an amazing time raising Painted Lady Butterflies this spring!

Life cycles are amazing to witness first hand and our kiddos loved watching them grow before releasing them. Make way for young scientists over here! 🦋❤

🌈 Swish, swirl, twirl! Colorful scarves are floating and falling in our infant classroom!

Playing with bright scarves help babies develop eye tracking as they follow the movements, as well as fine motor skills when they manipulate such a lightweight toy. As they get older, scarves are a great tool for pretend play. ☺️

Our annual gardening day is coming up and our oldest class has kick started some seeds! We can't wait for the seedlings to get big enough for the playground garden. 🌱

In observance of Memorial Day, Little Sprouts will be closed on Monday, May 25th. We will resume our normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th. Have a safe and meaningful holiday weekend!
