You know the saying, "SQUIRREL" when you get distracted? I have a student who gets distracted sometime. We were deep into a problem, and she got that "I just thought of something else" look on her face.
Me: "Wait, no squirrel right now."
Student: "But it's a math squirrel."
Hahaha
Yes, I had her share the math connection after our problem. Cute little math squirrel. :)

Tutoring Story of the Day: I've been with this family for like five years. My student is going into high school. The mom called me to see about getting the younger sibling on my schedule for summer review for the first time.
Mom tells me that the older sibling, my student, said, "Can't we get a different tutor for [the sibling]?"
She didn't want to share. haha

My old school, where I taught, has another 6 days until their commencement. Has your distract held graduation yet?
20 years ago, I graduated with my Master's from The Ohio State University. Time flies! My undergraduate graduation picture would be a bridesmaid photo from my brother's wedding, and that high school graduation pic doesn't feel like it was as long ago as it really was!

Zero is not the answer because it is a number. It is possible that zero people could have answered horror, and then that would have been used to find the mean, median, mode, and range.

Story problems during my math sessions are like Mad Libs. I asked my student what kids are collecting right now, so I could use that item in our problem. She answers Calico Critters which I wasn't familiar with. When she showed me, I had a major flashback to my childhood.
