Valerie Ofori Aboah, PhD student in Quantitative Research, Evaluation, and Measurement, joins CETE! She is passionate about turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that help educators and communities make evidence-based decisions, bringing extensive expertise in educational measurement, psychometrics, program evaluation, and computerized adaptive testing.
This summer, she will support assessment research, survey design, item bank management, and the development of technical documentation and stakeholder reports.

Dr. Jiarui Xie joins as a postdoctoral scholar whose work supports Artificial Intelligence in Education and Training initiatives.
Dr. Xie:
-leads research and develops learning experiences focused on AI literacy, responsible AI use, and workforce readiness
-contributed to the Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center's online learning modules, family and educator resources, and research projects
-brings a global perspective and expertise in online learning, instructional design, collaborative learning, and the use of AI in education

Zack Batsaikhan will serve as a new Senior Learning Designer at CETE, designing digital learning experiences and educational products that are intuitive, human-centered, and impactful.
Zack is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Learning Technologies at The Ohio State University College of Education and Human Ecology. Before pursuing his doctorate, he spent a decade as a UX Designer and Researcher, working on consumer-facing technology products and digital experiences.

Welcome, Dan Spears, to CETE as the new System Administrator Analyst, providing IT support for CETE associates and the programs the Center operates.
He brings with him two decades of IT experience across a diverse array of backgrounds from the SMB space to the enterprise level across local government and non-profit organisations, automotive research and development, and healthcare IT, to name a few.

Thank you, Bobbie Sin, CETE Event Coordinator and Ohio Association for Adult and Continuing Education President, for representing Ohio at the national COABE Conference in Indianapolis.
Ohio was one of only three states highlighted for demonstrating the power of aligned leadership in advancing adult education. Bobbie also represented CETE during the inaugural presentation of the Jody L. Angelone COABE Practitioner Scholarship Award, honoring the legacy of longtime CETE staff member Jody Angelone. How can simple, strategic text messaging strengthen family engagement and support improved student attendance?
Tom Capretta, Yesenia Alvarez Padilla, and Barbara Boone discussed an approach in their presentation: “Engaging families through text messaging to improve attendance,” meeting families where they are to build meaningful school-home connections.
