Each year, The Ohio State University College of Medicine allows its graduating students to nominate a member of the faculty who has significantly impacted their training. The Professor of the Year Award is the highest teaching award given within the College of Medicine and marks a career of excellence in medical education. This is made possible by an endowment provided by Dr. Mary Beth Fontana, faculty emeritus.
The College of Medicine is pleased to announce Dr. Megan E. Conroy, Division of Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine, as the 2026 Professor of the Year, as selected by the graduating Class of 2026.
Dr. Conroy is described as a tremendous educator whose teaching and leadership have touched nearly every fourth‑year medical student. She is widely recognized for her ability to break down complex physiology and create a learning environment that is both supportive and challenging.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Megan E. Conroy, the 2026 College of Medicine Professor of the Year. 🎉

A 16th-century book still sparks wonder and learning 📖
Vesalius’ groundbreaking work, gifted in 1959, is the crown jewel of Ohio State’s Medical Heritage Center collection at the Health Sciences Library at The Ohio State University.
Andreas Vesalius’ "De Humani Corporis Fabrica Libri Septem" is a 900-page book, written in Latin, that corrected errors in our understanding of the human body, revolutionizing the science of anatomy and how it's taught. Vesalius, a 16th-century physician, was one of the first practitioners to dissect human corpses.
