Continuing Education š¤ This week, one of our BCBAs, Emma, participated in a 2-day workshop at the University of Miami. There, she learned about a modern approach to ABA called Skills Based Treatment (SBT). SBT is learner-led and focuses on building rapport and functional communication while keeping the learner safe and happy. It also requires training in order to be implemented properly. Here she is with the founder and leader of the training, Dr. Greg Hanley. Emma will be back at Prism tomorrow to share what she learned with Leo and the rest of our clinical staff. Thank you to Dr. Hanley and our friends at UM for this special opportunity!

Occupational Therapy š¤²š¼ We are an ABA center that understands the value of Occupational and Speech therapy. This is why we have an open door policy to outside service providers. We welcome OTs and SLPs into our clinic so that they can work with our shared clients. This allows the client to receive outside therapies during their regular therapy day, and results in authentic collaboration between providers. Our RBTs and BCBAs are active participants in sessions, and we incorporate one anotherās strategies into our own work. This relationship benefits not only the client, but us as service providers. We are all part of the same team and have so much to learn from the expertise of other professionals.
