Every great journey starts with a strong foundation.

Our Baby Sharks Program was created to give young children the tools they need before entering our Kids Jiu-Jitsu Program. Through games, movement, coordination exercises, and age-appropriate martial arts instruction, students develop focus, confidence, body awareness, and essential social skills.

This group represents a special milestone for Praia BJJ. They are the first students to complete the entire Baby Sharks curriculum and successfully transition into Praia Kids 1.

Over the past year, they have learned how to follow directions, work with partners, overcome challenges, and build confidence in a fun and supportive environment.

The goal was never just to teach Jiu-Jitsu. The goal was to help children fall in love with learning, movement, and personal growth.

Today, we celebrate the beginning of their next chapter.

A special milestone at Praia BJJ.

These students are the first group to successfully graduate from our Baby Sharks Program and move into Praia Kids 1. 🦈➡️🥋

The Baby Sharks Program was created as an introduction to martial arts for young children. Through games, movement, coordination drills, teamwork, and age-appropriate Jiu-Jitsu activities, we focus on developing the foundations that every child needs before advancing to our Kids Program.

This transition happens after approximately one year in the program, or when a student demonstrates the skills, maturity, focus, and confidence required to take the next step.

Our goal has never been to rush development. We believe in building strong foundations first.

These young students have learned how to listen, follow directions, work with partners, overcome challenges, and gain confidence on and off the mats.

Today we celebrate their hard work and welcome them to the next phase of their journey.

Sometimes they wear work boots, business suits, board shorts, or a Praia rashguard.

They wake up early, work hard, make sacrifices, and still find the energy to be present for the moments that matter most.

It may look like playtime, but there's a lot more happening on these mats.

In our Baby Sharks program, every game, movement, and activity is designed with a purpose. While the kids are having fun, they're also developing balance, coordination, focus, body awareness, listening skills, and confidence.

At this age, children learn best through movement and positive experiences. That's why our coaches are trained to create an environment where learning feels like play and every child can succeed.

We don't expect perfection.
We celebrate effort, encourage curiosity, and help each child build confidence one small victory at a time.

Because before a child learns Jiu-Jitsu techniques, they need to learn how to follow directions, work with others, overcome challenges, and believe in themselves.
