Most women don’t skip healing because they don’t care.

They skip it because they’re exhausted.
They’ve been surviving.Holding everything together.Trying to look okay.Trying to move forward while still carrying what broke them.

But divorce recovery is not just about “getting over it.”
It’s about letting God heal the places you learned to hide.
It’s grieving honestly.
Replacing shame with truth.Rebuilding your identity in Christ.
And finally giving yourself permission to stop pretending you’re fine.

If this felt personal, I want you to know this:

You are not behind. You are not too broken.
And healing does not have to happen all at once.
But it does need a place to begin.

Save this post and come back to it when you need the reminder or when you ready for someone to walk alongside you in this 🤍

Healing after divorce is not just “moving on.”
I wish it were that simple.

You don’t just wake up one day and suddenly stop thinking about what happened. You don’t magically stop hurting because time passed. And you don’t rebuild your life by pretending you’re fine.

I had to learn that the hard way.

After my divorce, God didn’t just comfort me.
He taught me how to live differently.

I had to learn how to let go of things I could not change.I had to forgive without letting bitterness take over my heart.I had to pay attention to my thoughts because fear and rejection can get loud.I had to choose gratitude when I wanted to sit in the hurt.I had to stay close to God because doing life in my own strength wears me out fast. And I had to step out my comfort zone and start creating community around myself.

Those tools helped me heal after divorce.

But they didn’t stop there.

They became tools I use for life.

Because hard days still come. Life still stretches you. Your mind still needs truth. Your heart still needs God.

That’s why I wrote this blog.
Not because I have some perfect formula.
Because I’ve lived this.

And I know what it feels like to wonder if you’ll ever feel like yourself again.

Friend, your divorce does not get the final word.
God is still rebuilding.

“I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.”
— Psalm 116:1

There is something so tender about Psalm 116.

It is not written from a place of pretending everything is fine. It is written by someone who knows what it feels like to be overwhelmed, afraid, and brought low.

And yet, right in the middle of that pain, they discovered something powerful:
God heard them.

Friend, maybe you have cried prayers that no one else heard.

Maybe you have whispered, “Lord, I can’t do this anymore.”

Maybe you have felt like the weight of grief, divorce, betrayal, loneliness, or uncertainty was too much to carry.

But Psalm 116 reminds us that God does not turn away from the brokenhearted.

He bends low.
He listens.
He rescues.
He comforts.
He restores.

The psalmist says, “When I was brought low, He saved me.”

Not when they had it all together.
Not when they were strong.
Not when they had the perfect words.

When they were brought low.
That means your low place is not too low for God. Your tears are not too much for Him. Your pain has not pushed Him away.

Today, you can rest in this truth:

God heard you then.
God hears you now.

And God is still carrying you forward.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for hearing me when my heart is overwhelmed. Thank You for meeting me in the low places and reminding me that I am not alone. Help me trust that You are near, even when healing feels slow. Teach my soul to rest in Your goodness again. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Journal Prompt
Where have I seen God hear me, help me, or carry me through a hard season?

Reflection Question
What verse or phrase from Psalm 116 speaks to your heart today?

Can I remind you of something today?

Just because it feels slow…doesn’t mean God isn’t moving.

Just because it’s quiet…doesn’t mean nothing is growing.

Spring has a way of revealing what was happening all along beneath the surface.

Seeds breaking open.Roots going deeper.New life forming in hidden places.

And maybe… that’s exactly where you are right now.

If you’re walking through divorce or healing after one,
I want you to hear this:

🌿 You are not buried. You are planted.

Some days will feel heavy. Some days will feel hopeful.

That doesn’t mean you’re stuck.That means you’re healing.

I just shared a new blog that I wrote from this place—and I believe it will meet you right where you are.

👉 Read it at the link in the comments

You are not behind. You are becoming.

One of the biggest things I discovered during my own healing journey is this:

Healing after divorce isn’t random.

God actually walks us through a path of restoration.

Over the years I began noticing patterns in the healing process for women navigating divorce.

That is how the HOPE Method™ was created.

H — Honest With God O —Own Your IdentityP — Process the PainE — Embracing Your Next Chapter

This framework has helped so many women begin rebuilding their lives after heartbreak.

And I’ll be teaching this inside my upcoming masterclass.

If you want to learn more, comment RISE and I’ll send you the link.
