When it comes to health, language can be the difference between confusion and confidence.
From everyday health concerns to infectious disease outbreaks like Ebola, access to clear, culturally relevant information helps communities make informed decisions that protect lives.
Yet nearly 30% of the world's population still cannot access health information in their local language.
We're grateful for opportunities like the recent Christian Connections for International Health - CCIH regional meeting, where SIL Philippines represented SIL and shared how language development contributes to healthier, more resilient communities.

The Wala New Testament went on to strengthen communities and deepen faith across thousands of lives.
When he was elected to Parliament, Matthew took his oath of office holding that very translation. His story is a powerful reminder that investing in language can transform lives—and sometimes even shape a nation!
“I would consider work that I’ve done in translation to probably be the cream, the icing on all that I’ve tried to do in my life. It had meaning for me in a way that nothing else I’ve done could possibly have.”
