We are pleased to introduce Kristina Johnson as the new Principal of Charles Acton Leadership Academy for the 2026–2027 school year. Mrs. Johnson brings more than 11 years of experience in education and is currently serving as Assistant Principal at Acton, a role she has held since 2023. During her time at the campus, she has supported instructional leadership, campus operations, teacher development, and student achievement initiatives.
Prior to joining Duncanville ISD, Mrs. Johnson served as an instructional facilitator and classroom teacher in Cedar Hill ISD. She has a strong background in instructional coaching, professional learning, and data-driven decision-making and is a graduate of Duncanville ISD’s Aspiring Principal Program. Her experience as a teacher, instructional leader, and administrator has prepared her well to lead the Acton community.
Mrs. Johnson earned a Master of Education in Administration and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Sam Houston State University. She is committed to fostering academic excellence and building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.

We are pleased to introduce Shiva Peters as the new Director of Business and Finance for Duncanville ISD. Ms. Peters brings more than 15 years of experience in school finance, accounting, compliance, and auditing within public education and municipal government. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to fiscal accountability, operational efficiency, and transparent financial management.
Ms. Peters joins Duncanville ISD from Lancaster ISD, where she currently serves as Executive Director of Finance. In this role, she oversees accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, grant accounting, and the district’s annual external audit process. Prior to her current position, she served in multiple finance, audit, and compliance roles with Lancaster ISD, Dallas ISD, and the City of Dallas, gaining extensive experience in financial reporting, grant management, internal auditing, and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Peters holds a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Texas A&M University–Commerce. She is also a Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA). Please join us in congratulating Ms. Peters on her new role and welcoming her to the Duncanville ISD Panther Family.
