From the classroom to Capitol Hill connections!

Students in Mary Bashara's Upper School Summer Government class gained an insider's perspective on government and public service during visits from two special guests.

Assistant Head of Upper School Zac Ladd stepped into the role of "President" to conclude the class's Mock Congress lesson, while Macey Davis, a former Senate aide and lobbyist, shared firsthand insights about working on Capitol Hill and navigating the legislative process.

Mackenzie Dupré (Class of 2022) graduated magna cm laude from Trinity University with a degree in Psychology and will begin a Master's program in Speech-Language Pathology at The University of Texas at Dallas this fall.

Mackenzie credits Shelton with helping her develop the self-advocacy and initiative that have contributed to her success.

We can't wait to see the difference she makes in the lives of future students.

🏀 Chargers Helping Chargers ⚡

Shelton Class of 2026 graduates and former Varsity Charger basketball players Hudson Ramsey and Richard Goree are spending part of their summer giving back to younger athletes.

On June 16, the two coached Shelton's fifth-grade team to a 35-15 SVAA League victory.

Both graduates will attend Baylor University this fall. We love seeing Chargers invest in the next generation of student-athletes.

Whether he's running a race, keeping the beat in Drumline or serving in Student Council, Shelton student Ryan Leonard likes to stay involved.

A rising ninth grader, Ryan was one of two students selected to receive the 2025-2026 Adele Wolf Award for outstanding character, leadership and citizenship.

We're thrilled to welcome several Shelton alumni back to campus this summer as they help support students in Summer, The Shelton Way and the Scholars program.

Among those returning are:

— Avery Viracola (Class of 2023), a student at the University of Notre Dame.
— Jessica Silverman (Class of 2022), a 2026 graduate of Southern Methodist University with a degree in Psychology.
— Ella Houstoun (Class of 2023), a student at Baylor University majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders. "I am passionate about children and volunteering," Ella said.
— Sydney Carter (Class of 2023), a student at the University of Oklahoma majoring in Early Childhood Education. "Shelton gave me the tools to be successful," Sydney said.
