Winter General Meeting

We’ll be kicking off our first in-person meeting of the quarter by introducing projects and creating project groups! We will be presenting some of our officers’ data science project proposals. We will also be encouraging members to brainstorm their own ideas that they want to pursue. Then, we will form groups based on our skill levels and interests. If you would like to take part in a project this quarter, make sure to attend!

Hi everyone! We’ll be kicking off winter quarter with an exciting event: Data Science Speaker Panel!

We will be having three speakers from Visa and affiliated organizations who will share their experiences as data scientists. They will address working in industry, how to become a data scientist, navigating internships, and more! We will also be encouraging questions from the audience, so come prepared to learn a lot from our wonderful speakers.

Internships and Grad School Workshop

Interested in applying for internships but don’t know where to start, or want to learn tips to help maximize your chances of landing one? Join DDSC for our Internship and Grad School Workshop! We will be going over resume tips, where to find internships, and networking and interview tips. We will also briefly be going over general tips for grad school. At the end, we will have a guest speaker, Claudio Spiess, who will share a few of his experiences with grad school and industry. Hope to see you there!

Join the Davis Data Science Club leadership to be a part of one of the premier professional student organizations on campus for the 2022-2023 school year. Our mission is to foster a greater data science community by connecting students with industry professionals, researchers, and faculty members. We hold multiple events and project groups every quarter to help students build career and technical skills.
