๐ŸŽ‰CONGRATS TO BEACON HILL MIDDLE SCHOOL! ๐ŸŽ‰
Beacon Hill Middle School has officially been recognized by the Governorโ€™s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) for "Beating the Odds" during the 2025-2026 school year and was recognized at the school board meeting on Tuesday.

๐ŸพWhat does "Beating the Odds" mean?
This statewide designation means BHMS exceeded expectations and achieved significantly better academic results than comparable schools across Georgia serving students with similar backgrounds. To determine this, the state evaluates a variety of critical factors, including:
๐ŸพStudent demographics
๐ŸพPoverty levels
๐ŸพSchool size

๐Ÿ’™ Thank You, Bulldogs!
This achievement is a direct result of the relentless hard work and dedication of our phenomenal students, teachers, staff, and parent support of our work. Our students and staff show up every day ready to push boundaries and excel, and the state is taking notice!

How do we explore the unknown? Our 6th graders recently tackled this question through their latest Statement of Inquiry: Innovation, modeling, and evidence help us explore if we are alone in our ever-changing universe.

After researching the unique characteristics of our neighboring planets, students stepped into the role of space-age travel agents. Their mission: market a planet of their choice as the ultimate vacation destination for Earthlings.

Students are demonstrating impressive creativity and scientific understanding through a variety of formats, including:

๐Ÿš€Detailed travel brochures

๐Ÿš€3D planetary models

๐Ÿš€Digital advertisements and books

To celebrate their hard work, students will showcase their work in a cross-team gallery walk this week. This interactive session will allow students to showcase their projects, learn from their peers, and practice giving professional, constructive feedback. What an awesome way to round out the end of 6th grade- Kudos to the 6th-grade scientists and the teachers who supported and planned this end-of-year activity!
