Today we have our director of Primary Recruitment, Mackenzie Le, telling us all about her “why dg”

“What I love most about DG is the never-ending support from my sisters. No matter where I am in life or what I’m going through, there’s always someone checking in on me, and I love that we have a sisterhood where we’re encouraged to be each other’s biggest champions. The women in this chapter are so diverse, welcoming, funny, intelligent, ambitious, and unique. There are honestly so many amazing things I could say about DG, but the sense of belonging and support is what stands out the most to me.

One of the biggest reasons I stayed in DG was my big, Erika. She was one of my new member moms when I joined, and she always helped me see things from a different perspective while encouraging me to become my own person. During some of my hardest times, she went above and beyond to make sure I felt seen, heard, and supported. I’ll never forget the times she would drive up after work just to check in on me and make sure I wasn’t alone. She inspired me to be that kind of sister for others. There are so many sisters who have impacted me, and Taytay is another one who was always there for me, whether it was for something small or something major. She truly embodied what it means to be a Delta Gamma.

And lastly my favorite memory in DG has to be going through recruitment as a recruiter for the first time. It’s such a unique experience because we’re just as excited and nervous to meet potential new members as they are to meet us. Work week brought me so much closer to my sisters, and I loved being surrounded by so much positivity, laughter, and encouragement every day. Seeing everyone hype each other up and create such a welcoming environment made recruitment so rewarding. As someone who loves meeting new people, I had an amazing time, but what made it truly special was getting to know my sisters on a deeper level and creating memories with them that I’ll always cherish.”

✨SENIOR SPOTLIGHT ✨

Our next senior is Savanah Chavarria! Savanah was initiated in Fall 2023 and She is majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering! While in Dg has served as Director of Alumnae Relations and Director of Recruitment Records.

After graduation, Savanah hopes to create medical devices that help improve people’s everyday lives and pursue research for ovarian cancer treatments.

One thing Savanah will miss most about DG is being able to see her sisters every day, but she knows they will always only be a phone call away. The friendships and memories she has made will stay with her long after graduation.

Savanah, we are so proud of you and everything you’ve accomplished. We know you are going to do amazing things, and we can’t wait to see all that the future holds for you!
