🎵 Welcome Ms. Soukis!! 🎶

Denton ISD Fine Arts welcomes Eugenia Porter Rayzor Elementary Music Teacher Ms. Christina Soukis!

Ms. Soukis is excited to be joining the Fine Arts team at EP Rayzor Elementary. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2021 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. Most recently, she served as the PK-5 music teacher at Corinth Elementary School in Corinth, Texas, where she was named Teacher of the Year. Ms. Soukis established several school-wide initiatives, including innovative ensembles and annual performance opportunities for all students. In collaboration with her colleagues, Ms. Soukis directed an award-winning, all-district choir. She is looking forward to bringing the joy of music to all students at EP Rayzor!

Congratulations to our artists who were selected to be in our district art show tonight. It’s always so fun to see the amazing work from Kinder all the way to 12th grade. I think we all left inspired!! 🤩💖

Big congratulations to our 4th graders who placed in the Texas Native Plant exhibit. It was a joy to celebrate you all tonight. 💐 🌺 🌼

I’m excited to announce that I was chosen to be a part of the DMA Educator Advisory Council (EAC).

The DMA Educator Advisory Council designs and initiates professional development opportunities focusing on building social justice or social emotional learning themes.

I’m so excited for this opportunity to grow and learn and help others in the process.

Do you have extra hot glue sticks lying around, or would you like to purchase some for the art room? We have burned through over 1000 glue sticks this year in the amazing creations the kids have made and with a few weeks left there are still more sculptures to be made. If you would like to donate anything the kids would be so grateful!

🎵 Congratulations to our 5th grade honor choir!! They did an amazing job performing in the district honor choir concert today. 🎶

Happy BIG ART DAY and YOUTH ART MONTH! Congratulations to all of our artists who have work displayed this month at the Greater Denton Arts Council!

Thank you PTA for approving our grant for new gouche paint. The kids have been enjoying using this new material, especially as we finish our unit all about color. We appreciate all you do to make our daily lives even more colorful!! ✨

Congratulations to Kate who received 2nd place for 5th grade in the district for her Adopt-A-School artwork for the theme Hope and Courage. We’re so proud of you and your accomplishment. 💖
