Caregivers change lives every day. One UNT graduate student is helping shape the future of caregiving – Megan Byers has been selected as a 2026 Dole Caregiver Fellow — a national recognition of caregivers’ commitment to service, advocacy and making a difference for others.

Megan has been caring for her husband, a wounded Iraq War veteran for nearly 20 years. For the next 2 years, she’ll be working to raise awareness of issues affecting military and veteran families.
