Axel came here as a student in the first Spur Start cohort and then joined our education team during the year — and now he's been… wait for it… elected as a Colorado FFA Association State Officer! It's been so great watching Axel represent the kind of leader CSU Spur hopes to see in the world, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for him.
Congratulations, Axel! We're so glad you will continue to be part of our campus family!

The CSU Department of Design and Merchandising Upcycled Fashion camp was SEW much more than designing clothes!
Throughout the week, campers have explored how creativity, curiosity, and technology come together to give new life to old materials. From eco-printing, natural dyeing, patchwork and even a field trip to an alpaca farm (s/o The Fleece Factory Of The Rockies), students learned to see fashion not as disposable, but as a cycle of ideas and possibilities!
Summer camps at Spur are off to an incredible start ☀️

Our AmeriCorps team members are amazing — always 🧡 But each one is only here for a short term, and positions are now open for 2026/27 here at Spur!
The Environmental Education Corps (eeCorps) AmeriCorps Program, led by the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education (CAEE), places members at organizations across Colorado to grow environmental literacy for PreK-12 students and bring the Colorado Environmental Education Plan to life.
Curious about what it's like? Hear from our current members, Hadas and Louisa 👇
"The diverse array of programming — and this team's commitment to improving it — offers the opportunity to develop an understanding of how programs are put together, from twenty five minute lesson plans to three and a half hour program tracks. In serving at CSU Spur, I've developed a deeper understanding of how to design, plan for, and implement quality science and environmental programming." - Hadas Hacohen
"No matter where your passion is among the Vida, Hydro, and Terra buildings, there are people to connect with and projects to jump on, and you are encouraged to start your own projects that will stick around after your term is over. I have been able to do all of this and share my passions with the team, all while learning more about the whole range of content we teach and becoming a better educator." - Louisa Kaplan

Some huge news! Wiz Kid at CSU Spur is officially a regional Emmy nominee 🥳🎉
Wiz Kid launched in 2024 as a way to bring the same educational curiosity on display here every day at CSU Spur into classrooms and living rooms, anywhere and everywhere, and we’re so excited to see that curiosity recognized amongst other broadcast peers in the area.
Haven’t tuned in to the latest season or previous episodes? Every single one is on YouTube now 🎥
