The only thing they ask, is to be left alone while working. Distractions can stop them from doing their really important jobs. Every dog, uniform, and task in this book is real. "Our Voices Matters" - We have partnered with Northern Michigan Alliance for Children to create a collection of books about the investigation process of child abuse and to ensure survivors know they are not alone!
- The first book, "My Voice Matters," is about the interview process. This book is designed to be received by children prior to their interview. This book informs children and their families about what to expect when they arrive at a child advocacy center. However, it was carefully created to show parts of the process and be non-leading in any way. This book is available and customizable to all organizations working with abuse investigations.
- The second book is for survivors of abuse. It targets the emotions that survivors may be feeling and helps them process them in safe and healthy ways. Additionally, it can be used in collaboration with, or prior to therapy. (It is not to be a replacement for therapy.) It also targets important conversations for a parent to have with their child through open ended questions throughout the book to assist and lead the conversation.
