2026 CCJA JAZZ IN THE SANGRES CAMP SCHOLARSHIP CAMPAIGN 🎶

https://www.coloradogives.org/story/78k7sf

Each summer, we bring a group of talented youth students to the Sangres in Westcliffe, Colorado for an unforgettable week of music, community, and growth. To make this experience accessible to all—regardless of financial circumstances—we offer a limited number of need-based scholarships. That's where you come in! Your donation, no matter the amount, has a direct impact on a young musician's journey and helps keep Denver's jazz community vibrant and thriving.

Jazz in the Sangres is a transformative program where students immerse themselves in the stunning natural beauty of Colorado while learning from some of the state's top jazz musicians. It's a chance to grow musically and personally, forge lasting friendships, and find inspiration within a supportive, creative community.

We're working toward a goal of $15,000 by the start of camp on July 19th -- whether it's $5, $50, or $500, every contribution makes a difference.

Big thanks to KLZR 91.7 and Stefanie Sere for the amazing write up about our Community Ensemble in Westcliffe!

“Every summer, Paul Romaine brings young musicians to Westcliffe through the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts’ jazz camp. Now, he’s expanding that musical connection with the new Westcliffe Community Jazz Ensemble which performed in mid-May at the Jones Theater.Romaine said a generous donation from a community member inspired him to finally make it happen.”

SheBop Young Women in Jazz 05/15/2026

TOMORROW!

The SheBop Young Women in Jazz Workshop is back—and it’s so much more than a workshop. We know firsthand how powerful it is to walk into a room and see yourself reflected on the bandstand. Spaces like this matter. They remind us that our voices, our stories, and our artistry belong in this music.

Led by director Annie Booth, SheBop is created for femme, female, and non-binary musicians who are ready to grow, connect, and take up space. Over the course of the day, participants will dive into small group playing, instrument masterclasses, jam sessions, improvisation workshops, and—just as importantly—mentorship and community-building with artists who have walked similar paths.
We believe jazz is strongest when it reflects all of us. This workshop is about building confidence, finding your voice, and being surrounded by people who see and support you.
The day will culminate in a community performance at 800 Kalamath.

Workshop Details:
Saturday, May 16, 2026 | 9am–6pm
MSU JAIM Building
800 Kalamath St, Denver
Final Performance:
5–6pm at Renegade Brewing
925 W 9th Ave, Denver
(Friends and family welcome! Food truck on site for dinner.)
Open to all instruments, voice, and ability levels—middle and high school students only.
Cost is $125, with scholarships available for any amount needed.
If you have questions, please reach out to [email protected].
We can’t wait to hear what you bring to the music.
