📢 Help shape the future of Student Advisory Councils in higher education in prison!

Thanks to support from ECMC Foundation, our next HEP Cohort will help prison education programs create Student Advisory Councils.

Before we finalize the model, we will lead listening sessions and we want to hear from YOU:
🔸 Program staff or practitioners who have helped develop or run student councils/voice structures in prison
🔸 DOC & corrections partners who could speak to what is needed within facilities
🔸 Formerly incarcerated leaders who served on/participated in such bodies, or who wanted that kind of structure but didn't have access to it
🔸 Adjacent-field experts with experience in similar structures outside of prison

All those selected to participate in a listening session will receive a $50 gift card and entry into a drawing for one all-expenses-paid trip to NCHEP 16 (including registration, hotel, and travel)!

⏰ Complete the brief interest form by June 28, 2026: https://bit.ly/44qrqpk

Today, we pause to mark and honor Juneteenth.

This is a day of remembrance and celebration. As we honor the enduring legacy of Black freedom struggles, we also acknowledge that liberation is ongoing.

At the Alliance, we see expanding access to higher education in prison as part of that continued work toward realized freedom and justice.
