Hey there, Puma families! 🐾 We hope you are having an amazing start to your summer break and soaking up the sunshine. This spring, our WPS school board updated both the cell phone and dress code policies district-wide to ensure a focused, safe learning environment for all students. As you look through our grade-level school supply lists, please also review these new guidelines, which include a bell-to-bell ban on smart devices (kept in lockers/cubbies) and updated dress code standards requiring all tops, bottoms, and undergarments to be fully covered by opaque clothing. School might be out, but the brain science is still in! Sweet Summer Recipe Reviews 🍕👩‍🍳

Let’s bring literacy into the kitchen for some delicious summer learning! Have your kids follow a simple recipe to make a favorite snack, and then ask them to write a funny "food critic" review of their creation. It’s a tasty, hands-on way to practice reading comprehension, sequencing, and expressive writing all at once! Proud to be a Puma! 🦁

ICYMI: The WPS Board of Education passed a new cell phone policy that aims to help students stay more focused during the day, reduce distractions, and improve both academic performance and student mental health outcomes. So far, we’ve seen a positive reaction from parents and staff alike, and we’re feeling hopeful about the results we’ll see next year.
