Had a great time playing wind quintet hits at Waukee High School and Prairieview School with my Simpson College colleagues today! The students were super attentive and asked great questions!
I absolutely use Greg Wing’s edited flow studies for trumpet in my clarinet lessons and personal practice (today on E-flat clarinet). They help us establish a basic high voicing, cross the break without squeezing, expand range, and try out alternate fingerings. Together, we have all the answers!

I’m excited to teach a new First Year Seminar at this fall! It’ll be a longitudinal study on the music of Superman while never losing track of Lois’ impact (and then focusing on her for the big project)!
