Dr. Richard D. Benson II has been named the inaugural director of the Detroit Center for Black Studies at Wayne State University. Coming from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Benson is a nationally recognized scholar who will lead the Center with a focus on expanding interdisciplinary scholarship, fostering faculty collaboration and strengthening connections at the university, in Detroit and broader public conversations around Black studies. Welcome, Dr. Benson!
