The Douglass Branch (3666 Grand River) is home to the Frederick Douglass Mural by Detroit artist LeRoy Foster. On Monday, June 22 from Noon - 1:30 pm, enjoy a discussion on the art and artist with Lina C. Stephens from The Charles H. Wright Museum, followed by a family quilt craft and refreshments.

Detroit is getting a brand new hockey team as part of the Professional Women's Hockey League... AND Detroit will be hosting the PWHL's 2026 draft at the Fox Theater! There will be a watch party in the Friend's Auditorium on Wednesday, June 17 starting at 5 pm. Come together with other fans and watch history unfold once again in Hockeytown!

The Java and Jazz Concert Series kicks off on Tuesday, June 16 at 6 pm as we welcome Straight Ahead! Concerts are held in the Main Library Clara Stanton Jones Friends Auditorium, with complimentary refreshments.
All programs are free and open to the public. This is not a ticketed event, which means seats are available on a first come, first serve basis.

The next Community Conversations on Cancer with Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute will be held at the on Wednesday, June 17 at 6 pm. Led by Drs. Craig Cole and Lara Sucheston-Campbell, the discussion will focus on what to expect after a multiple myeloma diagnosis and how to determine which treatment options might be best for you. This event will be held both in person at the Main Library and virtually via Zoom.
