On World Sickle Cell Awareness Day, we recognize the importance of equitable, culturally responsive care for all.
Sickle cell disease disproportionately affects Black and other underserved communities, yet many patients continue to face barriers to timely diagnosis, treatment, and compassionate care.
Building a healthcare workforce that reflects the communities it serves can help improve trust, communication, and health outcomes. That's why it's critical to create more opportunities for people from all backgrounds to pursue careers in healthcare.
Together, we can advance health equity by raising awareness, breaking down barriers, and supporting the next generation of diverse healthcare leaders.
