Happy Juneteenth!

She came over and asked what was my activity. I shared with her and she had never done one and said I’ll be right back. As promised, she came back and sat. I kept looking at her, recognizing her face but not knowing a name. She asked for my information, said she enjoyed the experience and my professionalism. Then she told me who she was. And said, “I’ll be in touch”. I had no idea, I told her I recognized her face.

Alberta Tinsley-Talabi is an American politician, community advocate, and former social worker from Detroit, Michigan. She has had a long career in public service, including serving as:

* Member of the Michigan House of Representatives (2011–2016)
* Member of the Detroit City Council (1993–2009)
* Wayne County Commissioner (1987–1990)
