On behalf of our team at Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, we would like to extend our thoughts to the families, friends, and colleagues of the two Michigan Department of Transportation workers who tragically lost their lives this year while working in Michigan work zones.

Every day, road crews, maintenance teams, first responders, and transportation workers put themselves in harm's way to help keep our roads, bridges, and infrastructure safe for all of us.

These heartbreaking losses serve as an important reminder that work zones are not just construction areas. They are workplaces.

Please slow down, stay alert, avoid distractions, and follow posted speed limits when traveling through work zones. A few extra moments of caution can help save lives.

The DWT extends its deepest condolences to the family and all those affected by the recent tragedies.
