We're so proud of the Wayne RESA Teacher Certification Pathway participants who just completed their very first school year as certified teachers!

Taneshe Vernon (Mumford High School) and Carla Lewis (Pulaski Elementary-Middle School) at Detroit Public Schools Community District are just two of the teachers who have passed the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification with the support of WTCP. We are excited for this next step in their careers!

Shout out to Keyarra Hicks, class of '26, who was accepted to be a part of the Free Press High School Apprenticeship Program.

She's one of only six students from the tri-county area. Apprentices are paid and work with Free Press journalists and photographers for the four-week program. Most end up with a byline in the Free Press.
