Every Thursday morning, students at Everitt have the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow through Sign Language Club, led by Amanda McGreggor and Rachel Carson.
The club provides students with an engaging way to learn sign language while promoting inclusion and expanding communication opportunities for individuals with hearing loss. Through learning new signs and practicing communication skills, students gain a deeper understanding of accessibility, empathy, and connection.

Bucks County Intermediate Unit is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students across Bucks County, PA in a rewarding itinerant role that makes a meaningful impact every day.
In this position, you will:
• Support students' language and communication development
• Provide instruction in academic and social-emotional skills
• Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers
• Help students access learning through assistive technology and communication supports
Position Details
• Full-time position (193-day school year)
• Itinerant role serving schools throughout Bucks County
• Travel reimbursed per IRS guidelines
Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Education of the Deaf/Hearing Impaired
• PA Instructional I Certification – Special Education: Hearing Impaired PK–12
• Knowledge of special education regulations and communication technologies preferred

Chief Science Officers (CSOs) and advisors from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties gathered at Penn Engineering for the Southeast PA Chief Science Officers End-of-Year Celebration.
Throughout the year, these student leaders in grades 6–12 have worked to bring STEM opportunities and experiences to students, schools, and communities across the region. During the celebration, CSOs and advisors were recognized for their leadership, innovation, and impact.
Participants also heard inspiring remarks from Dr. Laura Stubbs, Senior Director of the Cora Ingrum Center at the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science. The event was planned and facilitated with support from the CSO Student Leadership Council, Penn Engineering students and staff, county cabinet coordinators, the Pennsylvania state CSO team, and members of the PA SEED STEM Ecosystem.

Students at Bucks IU at Samuel Everitt explored the importance of diversity through an engaging and interactive Diversity Circus experience.
Through hands-on activities and creative demonstrations, students learned about individuality, perspectives, beliefs, and the many qualities that make each person unique. Vice Principal Tracey Wise joined in the fun by getting “cut in half” as part of the assembly!

Safety remains a priority across Bucks IU schools and programs. Throughout the school year, Bucks IU staff continue to engage students in meaningful safety-focused activities designed to build awareness, confidence, and preparedness.
At Lower Bucks Early Learning Center, students welcomed Bristol Township Police and Officer Wesley (the dog) for a special visit focused on community safety and positive connections. Students also enjoyed safety-themed read-alouds with the Bucks IU Supervisor of Safety Services.
Meanwhile, students at Samuel Everitt explored the importance of digital safety by creating and displaying informative posters promoting safe online habits.

Recently, the Project SEARCH Banquet was held at the Doylestown Country Club to honor the accomplishments of this year’s interns.
Families, staff, LEAs, and community partners gathered for a memorable evening recognizing the hard work, dedication, and personal growth demonstrated throughout the program. The celebration highlighted the meaningful experiences and valuable skills interns developed as they prepared for future success.
Congratulations to all of our Project SEARCH interns on this incredible achievement and thank you to the many team members and partners who helped make this journey possible!
