I want to challenge the idea that studying abroad is only for certain types of people. As a first-generation student, I hope to share my journey and show that you don't have to fit a specific image to explore the world. โœจ

I am looking for toward to understanding the intersection between the environment and the health of humans especially within the context of indigenous communities. I am also interested in being immersed in a completely new and vibrant culture that I hope has so much to teach me. ๐Ÿ’™

Hi! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Iโ€™m May, Class of 2029, majoring in English and Global Health ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒ

This summer, Iโ€™m excited to be a GEO Field Ambassador for Duke in London โ€“ Arts! ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Samuel Johnson wrote, "When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford." I'm excited to visit traces of life, history, and iconic literary scenes left behind by many of my favorite authors of all time: Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and William Shakespeare!

I also look forward to the magical experience of immersing myself in the theatre capital of the world, exploring West End classics and contemporary experimental theatre alike. ๐ŸŽญ๏ธ

Above all else, I can't wait to document and reflect on my month of immersive artistic experiences through writing and photography. โœจ
