Recently, Cashmere Bentley joined Ashanta Branigan and Doretha Huntley at the Housing for New Hope Annual Breakfast. Housing for New Hope
The event was an inspiring opportunity to learn more about Housing for New Hope’s Vision 2032 and its commitment to ending homelessness through supportive pathways.
We’re grateful for our partnership with Housing for New Hope and congratulate Ashanta on one year and Doretha on three years of service. We look forward to continuing our work together to connect individuals and families with the support, stability, and opportunities they need to thrive.

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Sharon ✨
“I volunteer at StepUp Durham because I love the mission. I love the community engagement that the organization does and helping people who are trying to find jobs. I really appreciate the one-on-one, in-person interactions I get to have as I help people develop their professional resumes. I enjoy meeting new people, learning about their journeys, and helping them create a resume that will hopefully help them land a great job. It’s awesome!”
We’re so grateful for volunteers like Sharon who share their time, talents, and passion to help our neighbors move toward economic stability and meaningful employment. 💙
Interested in making an impact in our community? We’re always looking for dedicated volunteers to help advance our mission and support Durham residents on their path to success.

StepUp Durham was honored to attend Pinnacle Financial Partners' Nonprofit Appreciation Week celebration, represented by our Executive Director, Cashmere Bentley.
A special thank you to Brandi Gerew for the invitation and for her continued support of our mission. Brandi was instrumental in personally sponsoring IMPACT26, and we are incredibly grateful for her investment in the work we do for youth and families in our community.
We are excited to explore opportunities for Pinnacle to become a financial education partner for StepUp Kidz.
Thank you, Pinnacle, for recognizing and celebrating the impact of nonprofits in our community. We appreciate the opportunity to connect, learn, and build relationships that can create lasting impact.
