Her penchant for improvisation, personable phrasing and stage presence are compelling.

Kevin Van Sant has been a mainstay on the Triangle area jazz scene for over 25 years. In addition to leading his own groups, performing solo guitar, and being sideman at one point or another with nearly every well known area jazz musician, he is also a member of Grammy nominee John Brown’s big band and the Dan Davis Group, a jazz organ trio voted Wake County’s best local band by the readers of the Indy Weekly in 2025. Kevin is also the jazz guitar instructor at Duke University and has performed for concerts and festivals internationally. Though also a composer, Kevin’s bread and butter is a his fondness for interpreting songs from The Great American Songbook.

The ultra-cool west coast music Matt Dennis wrote is close to Angela's heart; so much that she titled her 2016 release, “The Night We Called it a Day”, a tune written by Dennis w/lyricist Tom Adair.
